Our privacy policy: what data we collect, how cookies and analytics are used, and the choices you have.
Your data, in plain terms
This page explains what information we collect when you visit, why we collect it, and what control you have. We've kept it short and readable on purpose. If anything is unclear, ask us through the contact page.
The short version: we run a content site, not a service that needs your identity. We don't ask you to register, and we don't sell your data to anyone.
What we collect
We collect very little. When you load a page, our server logs the kind of technical data every web server records: your approximate location by country, the pages you view, the site or search that sent you, your browser type and your device type. This is standard traffic information and it's used in aggregate.
If you email us, we keep your message and address so we can reply. That's the only personal detail you'd hand over directly, and only if you choose to.
- Pages visited and time spent, in aggregate
- Referring website or search term
- Browser, operating system and device type
- Approximate region, derived from your connection
- Any message and email address you send us
Why we collect it
The reason is simple. We want to know which guides people find useful, which pages load slowly, and where our readers come from, so we can write better content. None of this requires knowing who you are.
We do not build advertising profiles, and we don't run behavioural ad networks that follow you around the web.
Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies and a privacy-conscious analytics setup to count visits. Some of that counting happens without cookies at all. The full detail, including how to switch cookies off, sits on our cookie policy page.
Affiliate links may set a cookie on the destination casino's side when you click through. That cookie belongs to the operator, not to us, and it's what lets them credit a referral. You can read more on our affiliate disclosure.
Sharing
We don't sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the site, such as our hosting and analytics tools, and only so they can do that job. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Aggregated traffic data is kept while it's useful and then discarded. Emails are kept as long as needed to handle your query and any follow-up.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Because we collect so little and don't ask you to identify yourself, in most cases there's nothing tied to your name to begin with.
- Request a copy of any data linked to you
- Ask for correction or deletion
- Object to a particular use
- Complain to your local data protection authority
To exercise any of these, email us through the contact page. We'll respond within a reasonable time. This policy may change as the site does, so the version on this page is always the one that applies.
