Our cookie policy: which cookies this site sets, why, and how you can manage them.
What cookies do on this site
A cookie is a tiny text file a website stores in your browser. It lets a site remember small things between page loads, such as whether you've already dismissed a notice. This page lists the cookies we use, explains why they're there, and shows you how to control them.
We keep cookies to a minimum. There's no login here and nothing to buy, so there's little we need to remember about you.
The cookies we use
Our cookies fall into a few plain groups. None of them carry your name.
- Essential: these keep the site working, remember your cookie choice, and hold basic display preferences. The site can't run properly without them.
- Analytics: these help us count visits and see which pages get read. Some of our measurement runs without setting a cookie at all, which is the way we prefer it.
- Affiliate referral: when you click a link to a casino, that operator may set a cookie on its own domain to credit the referral. That cookie is theirs, not ours.
Why we use them
The essential cookies make the pages behave. The analytics cookies tell us, in aggregate, what's useful so we can write better guides. That's the whole purpose. We don't use cookies to build advertising profiles or to track you across other websites.
Third-party cookies
Most cookies you might pick up while browsing come from us and stay on this site. The exception is the referral cookie a casino sets after you click one of our links. You can read how that works on our affiliate disclosure page, and how we treat data generally in our privacy policy.
How to control cookies
You're in charge. Every major browser lets you see the cookies it holds, delete them, and block new ones. You can usually find these controls under settings, then privacy.
- Delete existing cookies from your browser's privacy settings
- Block all or third-party cookies for future visits
- Use private or incognito browsing to discard cookies when you close the window
- Turn on any "do not track" or tracking-protection option your browser offers
One thing worth knowing: if you block essential cookies, parts of the site may not remember your preferences and could behave oddly. Analytics and referral cookies can be blocked with no effect on how the pages read.
Changes
If we add or remove a cookie, we'll update this list. It's a good idea to glance at this page again if you're returning after a long gap, since the set can shift as the site evolves.
